The Information Technology Council is dedicated to the continuous improvement of the facility management profession through exploration and analysis of technology tools, solutions and methods and educating and communicating these findings to the profession.
Striving to utilize technology to support our work and our profession we, through the Information Technology Council, share triumphs as well as our lessons learned and information on new technology initiatives. The Council also supports IFMA in their information technology initiatives and the introduction of a technology competency.
One of our most valuable tools to share information is the Listserve. It is basically an E-mail networks to which council members may subscribe. Members post questions to their fellow subscribers, respond to questions, or just observe the electronic dialogue. The benefit of this form of communication is that members utilize it at their convenience.

How to Become Truly 'Paperless'

Like the personal jetpack or the flying car, the paperless office is yet another New Millennium concept that has not yet come to pass. Certainly there is less paper fluttering around today’s office.  But instead of handling paper, we are filling out electronic forms, re-keying data from one system into another and forwarding endless e-mail chains.  In other words, we remain slaves to many non-value-added workloads.
